Why do we wish to be RETRO collectors?

I really ended up thinking I was going to stick with the present timeline of games and be fine moving forward. Not really, I ended up learning otherwise the hard way. Since the realization, I ended up getting a Dreamcast to get started on the way back to the past. Not all games get remastered or picked up by Hamster. Retro gaming has been taking off obviously. Either emulator or the authentic way, we all go back to the past to either play what we loved or what we missed out on. Your local retro shops are not the only people aware of that. Hamster has been getting things out there in the Arcade Archives lineup. Nintendo, Sega, Retro-Bit, and SNK have been release micro plug-and-play consoles. Nintendo has all you can play NES and SNES games for Nintendo Switch Online members. Everybody seems to be aware of our tastes of nostalgia....well, almost everyone. Anyway, it doesn't hurt to go back to the past and rediscover or check out what we missed out on. There are many factors that motivate the retro scene.

Why do we consider going back in the NES or Dreamcast days? Because, there was a time where we get our games with loads of content already on the disc. We would just plug in a cartridge or insert a disc. After, we hit a power button and we are sitting back in the couch and enjoying the games. No hard drive install sizes, DLC, or micro-transactions. The PC gamer would get expansion packs that carry more than a few multiplayer maps as they offered more single player content and more multiplayer content all at once. We would also have a habit of renting games which would later come back to bite us in the ass because we never got enough time to enjoy our games thanks to the return dates or else, we risk late fees. The rental industry for games, I believe, were being assassinated. We should have considered a discount sale and waited longer. We allowed the desire for affordability to get the better of us in most cases. Retro gaming allows us to go play the games we played and enjoy and enjoy again or discover some hidden titles that we missed out on.

How do we get into the retro scene? There are many ways made possible. Solutions left and right out of the blue alongside the old fashioned way of going to a store and searching for a PS2. Also, you have your emulators. Figure I say this before someone beats me to it. Anyway, other methods surfaced. You have Hamster's Arcade Archives lineup. Also, Nintendo, SNK, Sega, Retro-bit, and Capcom came out with Retro mini plug-in-play consoles. Compilation discs such as Taito Legends 2 (PS2) and Capcom Beat'em'up Bundle (PS4,XB1,NSW,PC). Finally, you have the remasters where developers touch on the games and enhance them for current consoles. I almost forgot to mention, Arcade1Up and iiRcade and coming out with arcade cabinets for consumers to build and have in their home with built-in arcade classics. There are many solutions made available to us.

Forgot to mention as well, we are building up extra games in our libraries. That said, retro gaming has many benefits, many solutions, and still to build up more audiences, especially, old ones. We go to the games of the past because of the conveniences and memories. Also, opportunities we missed out on. That said, you want to go retro, many ways to go about it.
