Things Microsoft must do in order to catch up NEXT GEN!

Microsoft has been on the rough road to comeback. Their latest Xbox presentation has not been well received. In the past, they thought it was a good idea to implement online DRM before the launch of Xbox One and had to backpedal due to the backlash. Also, Xbox was not doing very well in the Japanese market. On the bright side, the Xbox Game Pass idea in present day might as well be considered a good start. There are a few examples of things Microsoft can do in order to get the Xbox Series X going toe to toe with PlayStation 5 and get a way more good footing in next gen.

BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY EXPANDED

If you check out that informative article written by Matthew Reynolds at Eurogamer, You would get the idea that Xbox Series X will backwards compatible with Xbox 360 and Xbox Classic games that were backwards compatible with Xbox One. What about Xbox One games on Xbox Series X? Well, consider another article written by Kyle Orland at Ars Technica confirming that if it doesn't require the Kinect sensor, it is guaranteed. That said, the looks of Xbox Series X backwards compatibility seem great but might as well consider one more thing. It needs more games to be added to the list of backwards compatible games from the Xbox 360 and Xbox Classic. For example, the Dead or Alive series has never had any game running on Xbox One. The addition of Dead or Alive Ultimate, 4, Xtreme 1-2, and 3 would be greatly appreciated. Backwards compatibility is doing good but we need more games added to the list.

LOVE FOR THE NICHE MARKET

Microsoft did everyone a huge favor and got Sega into finally localizing Phantasy Star Online 2. Also, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is an international thing now. Had it not be for them, PSO2 would have stayed in Japan. However, if Microsoft does one thing unlike Sony, this would be a reminder for Sony. If Sony can implement a ridiculously strict (and hypocritical) international content policy, then Microsoft can open invitations to Marvelous to have the creative freedom needed for Senran Kagura 7even and any other IP. More niche game love and creative freedom for niche game developers would be gratefully appreciated and net Xbox Series X for chance to catch in an international scale.
