Addressing the hysteria towards female characters that dare be attractive.

     For a 10+ years there has been an instigated moral panic over video game characters that are female that are known to be really attractive. It has been ongoing and it has gotten worse. One of many things accountable of it, the excessive censorship of games have gone worse and worldwide.  People start to notice some more and are growing tired of it. It has gotten more bad to a point where it's not only unhealthy and damaging to creative freedom but also, anti-consumer. Just know, you are not alone when you concern about the situation. We express concern as well

    If you like attractive female characters in gaming. We understand. It's great design and great design is one of many things that make a good game. You fall in love with a character the more you get to know her, that great because that is how you can achieve great character development. Basics 101. However, there are people wanting to be high up a pedestal want to cause issues. They find something they don't like? They will bash the developers and players playing game (more on that in a bit.) and say it causes real world harm. Next thing, find every tactic to back the developer into the corner in order to get what they want gone. So if a developer puts more blood, sweat, and tears into a game. They end up getting backlash because they either make a game too focused on fun and escapism or.....they make a female character attractive. Now, people are scared to put effort because the now cripplingly kneecapped access to creative freedom. 

    Now on to the detractors of sex appeal in characters.  We noticed some defenders of censorship and detractors of developers who dare make attractive female characters when they go on their tirades. They will say how the developer never saw a woman, call them creepy, or worse. The players also get targeted. Gamers who like sexy female characters are painted in a negative light as well. Examples include deeming the gamers as creeps and PORN ADDICTS!? PORN ADDICTS!? Ah yes, the constant cop out of "Go watch a porn." Before we get into that, if you think that an attractive female character whether in especially spandex or a swimsuit (that ain't nowhere near Dead or Alive Xtreme's infamously hidden Venus bikini) to be porn. You have no idea what a porn really is. 

    The shenanigans, let's get started on that. We noticed the backlash towards an upcoming game from Nikke developer, Shift Up. The latest game releasing on PS5 is Stellar Blade and it's a miracle how this game managed to hold it's own considering the strict international content policy revealed in late 2018. There was constant outrage. It's over how the main character is sexy. When games get censored. People celebrate and crash into discussions concerning it and telling others to go watch a porn. But then, the porn game exists and they lose their shit. Games get mysteriously rejected by Steam (despite adult only toggles implemented), get purged from alternate storefronts (for example, Game Jolt) so suddenly, and the latest worse thing: Payment Processor shenanigans. Toffer Team, who developed LIP: Lewd Idol Project, after having a history where PayPal banned their accounts and cleaned of funds for "Sexual Services" over their game, had to come forward a make a twitter post calling out people defending it and even saying "it's just porn." It doesn't matter whether you are a indie developer, a AAA/AA developer just wanting to make a stupid dumb fun game, or from around world. No one is safe.
